Access levels in Roughly Right

‍

Every user in Roughly Right has one of three access levels: Admin, Project manager or Coworker. The access level decides which sections of Roughly Right the user can see and work in.

You set each user's access level on the Coworkers page, under Basics > Coworkers.

Admins see everything, project managers see everything except a few sensitive areas, and coworkers see only what they need for their day-to-day work.

The access level does not affect the cost. Every user costs the same, whether they are an admin, a project manager or a coworker

Admin

Admins have full access to everything in Roughly Right. This includes Basics, the Employees and Salary sub-sections under Time is Money, which are hidden from all other access levels.

Give the Admin level only to the people who manage your company setup, employee data and salaries.

Project manager

Project managers can access everything in Roughly Right except these three areas:

  • Basics
  • Time is Money – Employees
  • Time is Money – Salary

This lets project managers run projects, planning and follow-up without seeing company settings, employee details or salary information.

Coworker

Coworkers see only three sections:

  • Planning – to see what they are planned on. By default co-workers see everyones planning but cannot edit. You can change these planning settings for co-workers under Basics > Details.
  • Time reporting – to report their hours.
  • Roughly Now – but only the dashboards they have been given access to.

What a coworker sees in Roughly Now depends on which dashboards you have created and the access level set on each dashboard. A dashboard that is not shared with coworkers will not be visible to them.
